Bir uzay ve bilim merkezi olan Uzay Kampı Türkiye, gençleri bilim, matematik ve teknoloji alanında kariyer yapmaları için motive etmeye odaklanmıştır. katılımcılar, uzayla ilgili interaktif simülasyonların kullanıldığı dinamik ve eğlenceli bir ortamda; iletişim, takım çalışması ve liderlik alanlarında da eğitim alırlar.
Geleceğin liderleri buradan doğar " sloganıyla öğrencilerini karşılayan Uzay Kampı Türkiye’de AKANT Ortaokulu öğrencileri 18-20 Mayıs tarihleri arasında ,uzay mekiği-yer kontrol merkezi ve uluslararası uzay istasyonu modülünde sanal uzay uçuşu eğitimi", "sıfır yer çekimi simülatöründe ağırlıksızlık", "1/6 yerçekimi koltuğunda ay yürüyüşü", "gözlem evinde teleskopla gökyüzünün incelenmesi" gibi birçok etkinliğe katıldılar. Bunun yanı sıra kendi yaptıkları sıcak hava balonlarını uçurarak eğlenceli vakit geçirdiler. Dinamik ve eğlenceli bir ortamda iletişim, takım çalışması ve liderlik alanında eğitim aldılar. İki günün sonunda mezuniyet töreninde sertifikalarını alarak programı tamamladılar.
Programın ardından öğrencilerimiz Şirince de bulunan Nesin Matematik Köyü ,İzmir Doğal Yaşam Parkı ,Efes Antik şehri ve Meryem Ana evini ziyaret ettiler. Bu gezi ile öğrencilerimiz hayatları boyunca unutamayacakları eğlenceli ve öğretici bir macera yaşamış oldular.

SPACE CAMP TURKEY VISIT,
18-20th of May
Space Camp, Turkey is one of only three facilities worldwide. It is also the only camp to service Turkey, the Middle East, South-Western Europe and the Western-Central Asian territories.
This camp is oriented towards space and science and focused on motivating the youth visiting the site to venture into career paths based around the fields of science, mathematics and technology. Attendees of the camp enjoy being submersed in an fun-filled and dynamic enviroment filled with interactive-simulators depicting space and its environs.
‘’The leaders of the future are born here’’ slogan adopted by the Camp is the first thing that our AKANT students witnessed during their visit to the camp between the 18th and 20th of May. After that, in quick succession our students were awe-struck by the Space Shuttle Control Centre and then received flight-training in a module of the International Space Station. Having faced this challenge, they were then exposed to zero gravity simulator, then a moon walk under 1/6 earth’s gravity; further amazement was faced when the students’ studied the universe via an observatory telescope. These were just some of the many incredible activities that the students’ had the supreme enjoyment of experiencing. One Project undertaken by the students’ was that of making and then flying their own hot-air balloons. Via these activities, undertaken in these dynamic and entertaining environment, the students’ were taught communication, teamwork and leadership skills that will benefit them throughout life both personally and professionally. At the end of these two enthralling days of non-stop activities, our weary explorers of space attended their graduation ceremony where they received certificates confirming their successful completion of the program.
In completing the schedule of events, students’ then had the opportunities to visit the Nesin Mathematics Village, The Ancient City of Ephesus, and Mary’s Home on the Hill. They had a truly positive life-changing experience that will live with them forever as will the lessons that it contained.
